In folklore it is said that turquoise stones can bring you luck when it comes to money and romance. The blue green turquoise nugget is also associated with security and healing by some Southwestern Native American Indian tribes. I believe there is something to these mysterious powers, however I am somewhat biased about these topics. The stones, depending upon where they come from can be greenish, dark blue, blue green, sky blue and it may have veining of black or brownish streaks. Turquoise is a mineral in the class of phosphates and it's chemical composition is that of hydrated copper aluminum phosphate and by some considered to be one of the most valuable non-transparent mineral in the Southwestern Native American jewelry trade. Some of the finest specimens of turquoise come from the Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico and also from the country of Iran.
